The Northumberland Photography Club was formed to provide an opportunity for members of the community with a wide range of experience and interest to come together regularly to share, learn, and develop photographic skills in an environment that is mutually supportive and committed to exploring the creative and documentary potential of photography.

First Monday of every month, September through June (Except deferred a week for holidays)

At 7:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church Gymnasium, 59 Ballantine Street, Cobourg, Ontario.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for coffee.


Periodically, technical workshops are held which are tuturials or seminars on some apsect of photography.  In addition, in the Spring of each year, the club produces special Workshops which feature guest speakers plus workshops on how to get better photos.  These are usually all day or weekend events.

  • In small groups, drive/car pool to three assigned sites in Northumberland County
  • Bring your camera and tripod
  • You will be given 3 photographic ‘challenges/techniques’ to stretch your skills
  • You have 4 hours of opportunity to pursue the ‘challenges’ or just shoot
  • Bring appropriate clothing and footwear for both indoor and outdoor locations.
  • You will be your own teacher, but plan to learn from, and share with, each other.
  • A tasty lunch (1 p.m. – 2 p.m.) is included with the registration fee.
