March 19th - We're going to Toronto and the ROM!!

On Tuesday, March 19 an outing to Toronto is planned to go to ROM to take in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit.  The admission cost for this is $23 for seniors over 65 and $28 for others.  Tickets can be ordered on-line at the ROM website or bought that day at the door.  We will meet at 8:30 am at the Toronto Road car park in Port Hope to travel to Toronto (park at Scarborough Town Centre and then take the TTC to St. George Station.)  There is a cafeteria there for lunch.  We would leave Toronto about 2 pm to avoid rush hour.

That day the film, All Things are Photographable, a documentary about street photographer Gary Winogrand, is playing at Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema at Bloor and Bathurst – walkable or a 2 subway stop journey from the ROM.  The cost is $11.50.  It begins at 2 pm and is 90 minutes long, meaning that returning home right away would mean travelling in rush hour.  We could always do our own street photography, have dinner, and return home when traffic has settled down.  It will be a full day!

If you wish to take part, please tell me which option you favour.  I would like to know by Friday so that I can work out a plan and communicate it to those participating.  If you are willing to drive to Scarborough Town Centre, please let me know.

Option A – ROM only

Option B -  ROM and All Things Are Photographable

Option C – ROM, All Things Are Photographable, street photography and dinner
